Week 2 – Discussion 1
Your initial discussion thread is due on Day 3 (Thursday) and you have until Day 7 (Monday) to respond to your classmates. Your grade will reflect both the quality of your initial post and the depth of your responses.
By Day 1 of Week One, your instructor will assign you one of the seven deadly sins of presentations for this discussion. This course is all about data, but if the data is not presented in a meaningful way that catches the eye of the reader, we miss one of the prime goals of data analytics. In David Peoples book, Presentation Plus: David peoples Proven Techniques, the seven deadly sins of presentations are discussed.
For the sin assigned to you:
Initial Post: Your initial post should be 300 to 350 words. In addition to the textbook, utilize a minimum of two scholarly sources to support your points. Cite and reference your sources in APA format as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
Guided Response: Post a minimum of two follow-up responses to peers by Day 7. Each peer response should be a minimum of five full sentences. Comment on the eighth deadly sin proposed by your peers. Share an additional perspective or present new information about the discussion topic. Your three required posts must be on three different days of the week.
Carefully review the Grading Rubric for the criteria that will be used to evaluate your discussion.
